The old man updated the tail lights to LED… I assume he got them through LMC. They are working fine….. until you turn headlights on. I ordered and installed an electronic blinker and with polarity reversing adaptor. Well the front turn signals work but the rears just aren’t. The rears get bright but don’t flash.

What am I missing?

are they 1157 type replacement ? our brake tail are 2 different circuits in the same bulb.

Polarity reversing isn't an issue for brake/tail bulbs. You would only use those on things like the side markers that use 194 (single filament) bulbs. IIRC fronts (grille) are also polarity reversing.

Rear are easy for LED. Disconnect anything in front with LED's, and see if the rears work properly then. I installed an adjustable electronic flasher for LED's which was nice to be able to "tune" the rate of blinking.

LED's generally aren't worth the hassle on these trucks IMO. I've played around with far too many exterior LED's, and with the polarity issues, light dispersion, lens colors, the tail/brake lights are really the only ones that work by just plugging the LED in, and could be even close to an "upgrade".

thew ones i got from lmc said not to use an electronic blinker it will fry them
try putting a stock blinker type in it and see if it works

I just went through this. In order to run led’s in front and rear you have to run a normal heavy duty flasher. A normal flasher will run everything normally if you have normal 1157 in rear. But once you put led’s in rear they won’t flash because not enough current. The heavy duty flasher works great. The turn signals are a tad slower than normal but it’s not noticeable to anyone but yourself. image.jpg
