Does anyone know how to get the stock steering arm off the knuckle? I just started lifting my truck and need to throw in the newer steering arm. I've taken off the bolts and try to force it up with just about every tool in my power and it just will not leave to bolts and the knuckle, any ideas on what I may be doing wrong? No rust or anything on it either.

I'm honestly not pulling the "SEARCH!!!" thing, but everything is in there that you need. Even on my AZ K5, it took awhile (30 minutes?) of pounding to get the thing off with a steel-handle 7lb sledge.

Ignore the puller part, there appeared to be confusion between a pitman arm (on steering box) and steering arm (on knuckle). You will be pounding:D

There are 3 big locking cones in the arm. I use a big sledge hammer, usually 2 or 3 hits on the side of the arm will free them.

Try Kroil, or if you cant find it, mix 50/50 ATF and acetone for penetrating oil.

You might be able to load it with a jack and then use the impulse from a BFH to break it loose.

Or, you can flex the suspension out too far and wait until it pulls it off the knuckle...thats what I did one night :doah:

MIne took awhile too. 20 minutes or so. IIRC my cone washers had little slots in the top/wide end that is on top when installed. I pounded and pounded up and down and sideways and then took a screw driver and punch to sorta untwist/unscrew the cone washers out to relieve pressure off the arm. This really helped. Your man not have the slots or not but I don't know if that was done by the PO of the blazer either.
