I’m looking into getting new tires and wheels because my tires are dry rotted and shot and I’m not a big fan of the beat up outlaw II’s. I’d like to stick with 15” but after shopping around for tires, it’s getting harder to find good tires for 15’s.

This leads me to my main question, what are you guys running? I’ve been looking at 16’s & 17’s but don’t want anything bigger (don’t want it to look like a bro truck). The other question I had, what off set, if any are you guys running? I like the look of deep dish wheels with meaty tires but I’ll be running 33’s for now until I can do my lift.

I found these on eBay but want to make sure this is really what I want before I get them. They are 16x10 with a -25mm offset and the price is right. I’m not a big fan of the black but I like the price.

That's a little article I wrote about offset and backspace.

On these trucks, typically the less backspacing is better. I run 37x13.50s on a 17x9 with a 4.5 inch backspace, and I should have went with less. I rub the pitman arm and drag link at full lock stuffed up.

PM me with what wheels you like, I'll see if I can beat that price.

Nice article there swetty. I have to explain that on a daily basis. Backspace is usually buried in the full specs section of the wheel catalog. It's what most people get when you say backspace and frontspace.
Half ton trucks love to have low backspace numbers. 3-4" is pretty good for 6 lug trucks. There are plenty of good 15 inch tires out there. What are you looking for in a tire?

Awesome article!

Like in your article, I want that aggressive look but my K5 is at factory specs. I’d like to do a lift kit but that will be one of the last thing I do on this thing. My plan for this truck is a restomod, so I won’t be cutting fenders but I want as much tire as I can get. For the most part it will be paved road driving but I do a lot of camping and a lot of the places we go are dirt roads and around the Ozark mountains.

I actually just found a CL deal for a good set of period correct Rally’s for $150 and I’d almost rather go that route and get a good set of AT’s or MT’s to throw on them.

Id like the aggressive look with functionality at a decent price. I don’t plan on doing anything drastic with my truck other than mild off roading.

I’ve really been looking at these pretty hard lately.https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00KTVY1QY/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_wqArAb0V3SB41

Those come separated from the factory. I refuse to sell them and will not balance them at any cost. I have had nothing but trouble with federal couragias.

I have excellent results with the procomp mt2. Personal and over the counter sales.

Well damn. What do you mean by separated? Not from the same lots, or something like that?

Separated means not round. Meaning they are delaminating on the boat from China right before our very eyes. Garbage.

Agree 100%, those are junk. ProComp is a much better choice.

Personally I think the stock style rallys are one of the best looking wheels for a restomod even a street truck with the correct centers and trim they are spot on! As for tires I never go cheap or off brand. Ice had delamination and bubbled side walls etc its just not worth the risk. Imho

Bringing this back to life. Currently I'm running the Weld Racing Cheyene 8 (I believe). It is a discontinued wheel.

I'm pretty sure it's an 18x10. Not sure on the back spacing or offset since it's hard to find info online.

What I'm looking for is a negative offset 18x10 that can handle 3700+ lbs.

I was thinking that the brotherhood could use a thread where we can link the different wheels that work well with our 1 ton setups.

Instead of starting a new thread I am hoping to revive this one.

You can pull a wheel off and measure. Sometimes the offset will be written on the back side of the wheel. It will also give dimension of wheel.
