Ok just trying to figure out a few things with my truck

First one being if I want to put the tail gate letters back on. I had them on there before I got the truck painted and liked them, but now I kinda like the clean looking tailgate. I have the letter decals sitting in my garage, just trying to decide whether I should stickem on or not. Compair the two with the before and after pics:

Before with the tailgate letters:

After without the tailgat letters:

The other issue I'm not sure of is whether of not to put my push bar back on. I loved having a push bar on my truck to protect the grill and everything, but I got stuck and like an idoit I decided to make the push bar a pull bar and ripped it clean off . So since then its been sitting in my garage for over a year and finally my cousin just welded up new mounting brackets for it and stripped all the old cheap Wal-fart bedliner off it so I can herculine it myself. But then again I'm not sure if I want to mount the push bar back up because I am starting to like the clean front of my truck. So help me decide and look at the before and after pics:

Okay,

10vote.gif
for black letter's. They really dresses the rear up. Besides, it'll take the eye away from the crunched brake line! :haha::haha::haha:

for push-bar. Since you don't look like Officer John Baker of the California Highway Patrol, you need to get a real man's bumper that sports a winch. If you're gonna MUD, be the

. Get a Warn up front!

Manny you are Hillarious!!! :haha:  :haha:

And hey I will replace that brake line! LOL :p:

Well a winch would be ballin' but can't afford one at the time. Also I am not sure I want to mess with the front end too much to mount a winch up there. Well since I don't go wheelin in cow poop I don't think I really need one (at least for now).

Voted.

Some comments on my votes...

The tailgate needs "something", especially with an all-white truck. If you know anyone who does pinstriping locally you might be able to get them to do a "drop shadow" effect by painting part of each letter's perimeter with either black, Chevy blue....whatever. It will help the letter stand out a little without being as blatant as those large black decals. Sometimes subtle is the way to go.

Also, I'm not sure what's going on with that rear bumper. At first I though you had a body lift based on the gap, but the front seems normal. Is there normally a "filler panel" between the tailgate and that bumper? Aesthetically, the gap needs to go away....raise the bumper up if you can, and you'll get better a departure angle too!

Up front, there is nothing about the pushbar that is good....I'd leave that one off forever. It's reminiscent of 80's 4x4 truck styling, and that's a time we'd all like to forget! :haha: No neon wiper blades, no pink shock boots.....no push bars.

Oh yes, and "nekkid" because that's always fun to vote for.

:usaflag:

I'm not voting because what I think you should do is not on there. IIRC your body lift is a mixed bag of blocks. fix that. the bed looks like crap not lining up with the cab. the light bar would line up much better if you did. put the chrome trim back on the grill. all those little holes make it look unfinished, because it is. do something with the bowtie in the grill. I like a white truck but yours is nothing but white with the bumpers being the exception.

the black letters look like crap on the tailgate.

needs more cowbell.

You're damn straight!!! Cowbell is all that it needs!! :haha:

Yes the body lift is kinda screwy and I have all parts neccesary to fix it and level out the cab and bed. I am on my April Vacation this week so I was going to fix it but the weather is working against me at least until the end of the week.

The reason you see that gap between the bumper and the tailgate is because it has the full 3" body lift on it, while the cab sits on about a 2" lift. I would have fixed this problem back in the fall, but I couldn't as a result of time restraints because the truck is my DD. SO, hopefully I can fix that by the end of the week, weather permitting...

Also yeah the push bar could look a little '80s. Also yeah the roll bar is little outdated too and falling apart and rattling over every god damn bump...
I'll take the roll bar off and see if I like it...

If its just gonna be a clean big truck , then you gotta follow the rules :

Any add on appendages are cool if its within reasonable non tackiness .

Pushbars , and rollbars must be chrome if its not rockcrawling .

White letters out on tires if not rockcrawling .

Tailgate letters out on stepsides , custom script Chevy on fleetsides .

Grilles should be chrome , unless its a CUCV , or rockcrawler .

I don't make the rules , just enlighten us to em :thumb:

Well I'm sorta going for the big clean truck look...

I bought a chrome grill and didn't like it all. My stock grill looked way better. Now that grill is sitting on Tom Ford's truck ;).

I have the white letters out on the tires.

As for the chrome... I do like shiny metalic objects :D but I'm going for a slightly different look with my truck, the clean white body with black accents complimented with some chrome or preferably pollished stainless.

But don't think my truck is a full on mall crawler although thats what it does 90% of the time but the other 10% of the time I flog the **** out of it:

Here's my humble opinion. The tailgate needs something, but less is more, so if you can take Greg's advice on the letters do (stay with black though), if not put the black letters back.
As far as push bar goes, I don't think they are just 80's bling, they are functional too. I hit plenty of things with mine when I was a teenager and it saved my plastic grille, and then saved scatches on the chrome grille, too. I also think that since your bumper is now black it brings the black up which will look better than it did on white.
You didn't ask, but I'd also paint your bowtie and maybe headlight bezels black. Or you could paint your headlight bezels and the bar across the middle black and paint the bowtie a color to pop it off the truck. Then paint your mirrors and and maybe door handles black, too.
Finally, lose the roll bar it is 80's gey. Oh and since I live outside the rules according to paul's book, flip the white outlined letters in, blackwalls look much cleaner and meaner.

You guys will probably be happy, as I did take the roll bar out. But I don't know what it looks like yet because I took the bed off to. You see I'm painting the frame and underside. Looks good so far but I need to replace the plywood in the bed before I can put if back on. I will have an entire write up and lots o pics!

Also I made my desicion on the push bar. I think I will just sell it, I already stripped all the old ass bedliner off it.

I like my white lettered tires, they give the truck a better look.

As for the tailgate letters, I think I'll hold them up there with scotch tape to see if I like it or not...

As of right now my grill trim has just been painted black and is drying, after I install it I'll post up pictures.
