Umm, well if you say so man. I guess 2" of compression is good flex now..

Anyway, I wheeled stock IFS for a year and got rid of it because it had absolutely no flex, the only flex I had was frame flex and the rearend...

[/ QUOTE ]Yes. I agree that IFS sucks at flex, but he did say "for IFS". Now IFS is junk, and SFA is DA CHIT, so get over it . It is true that the sway bars will restrict flex, but if it didn't have'em the IFS would probably fall apart anyway.

I have a Tahoe, and it doesn't flex for crap. Will it stay IFS? Most likely.

But who cares, we all have SFA on one of our trucks!

who says hummer's don't flex... that bad boy's got mad flex! /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

well the IFS on my luv flexes just fine for me. Im going to guess that the little IFS rigs (toyota, isuzu, nissan) do fine becouse of thier size and thier stronger frames which dont flex. I bet of the full sized trucks had a frame that didnt flex it would force the IFS to work a bit and probly do better... /forums/images/graemlins/thinking.gif

yeah stock ifs is definetly infirior to a live axle for off road. But lighten up on this anti IFS trip. 90% of everything is driver /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Hey guess what Jekbrown!

He converted that thing to solid axles after one season, the IFS/IRS sucked /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

Thats too bad they couldn't make it work! I bet if you gave me alot of time, a mill, a lathe, a welder, a plasma cutter, a BB chev, a th400, an atlas case, I could make an IFS flex. Oh, I'd also need some coilovers and a team of engineers.... /forums/images/graemlins/rotfl.gif

it may not have worked for the rock crawling championship circuit... but it probably rowns the hell out of almost every rig on this site... so whether or not it "sucked" is a matter of perspective. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif imo, eventually IFS will be made to work... there are just to many people out there with good ideas for it not to work at some point down the road. I mean, if we can put a man on the moon, we can make IFS work... right? /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
