Mine, its an '89 V3500, its an old 4 wheel parts wholesalers show truck, I have the posters to prove it too, haha. I swapped in a warmed over 454, 4L80E, 205 with a custom adapter made by northwest fab. Works pretty good and I have out run my buddy's tweaked diesel when towing too, not bad for an old gasser. I really do need to take some new pictures of it, and get the black repainted, its getting pretty bad on the roof and hood.

on your adapter what was the cost, I dont see it on the website, also did you start with a 2wd or 4wd 4l80:confused:

How the hell did you end up with that truck?!?!?!?!

I have the magazine that truck was in! I remember it very well, too. Been wondering where it went and now I see you have it.

Who did you get it from? In the magazine, I think it said Brent Riley. Riley is a popular name with 4 Wheel Parts Wholesalers as he was a mechanic there. Maurice Rozo of Off Road Unlimited fame was a co-worker with Riley once, too.

More pics! More info! I'm putting you near the top of my favorite CK5 members list now!

Found the magazine!

May 1994 in 4 Wheel & Off Road on pages 26 and 27. Along with the cover shot, too.

The article says Matt Ross was the owner at that time whom bought it from Brent Riley.

I bought it from Matt in December '05, still have his phone # actually. I'm planning on throwing a duramax/allison combo in it when I get done with college and get my own shop, I like the old chevy's better than the new ones, so I might as well trick it out. I also plan on replacing the ****ty lift springs with some deavers, and maybe ditching the body lift, but I would have to do a ton of work since they cut and sectioned the end of the frame to make the bumper height match up. Also going to replace the crappy rancho's with some nice rebuildable and valveable shocks to get a nice ride.

I'll try and get some pictures this weekend, I have my camper shell on it right now and it needs to be washed really bad. Oh yeah, its gonna be at Blazer Bash, I have to redeem myself for bringing a samurai to a blazer event cause my blazer's frame is toast.

Give NWF a call, it was extremely reasonable. But I started with a '02 4wd 4L80 and my '89 205 and adapter, just needed a 7/8" or so adapter between the factoru 400/205 adapter to make up for the difference in the output shaft and the different size indexing rings on the 400 and 4L80

Oh yeah ORU did quite a bit of work on the truck, and I'm pretty sure Matt knew them very well. I'll get pictures of the poster when I get back to my apartment on sunday.

Bottom two pics are red "X"s.

Can you do more pics? Close up shots of the suspension, etc.?

dang Wes... I haven't seen you this excited since they lifted the boob ban in the PP...

Nice trucks btw guys...

I've always loved that CC since it was in the mag. I'm almost sad to hear he's planning a CTD swap into it later. I'd rather leave it alone with all GM stuff, but its his truck and he can do whatever he wants to it.

Now if only I could win the lottery and buy this from him as-is......

The suspension is pretty much your standard 6" lift with 1" zero rates in front, it does have crossover and a sway bar which is performed by lowering the sway bar an inch or so at the frame and running a 3" steering block and straight draglink and i think a standard pitman arm at the box. The rear suspension is just the stock springs and a block and air bags to keep the truck level when towing. It also had 6 shocks up front, and 4 in the back, i only kept 1 per corner installed because it rode like a brick with that many shocks.

I don't think I could put a cummins in this truck, but I would definately put a duramax/allison combo which i'm thinking of doing in the next 2 years.

I'll have to get more pictures later, i'm sure people will get some at blazer bash.

I figure I got about $20,000 extra in cash to feed my thirsty big block since I don't have a Duramax or the payment:D
