Lets see those C/K30's....

It can also have to do with the break in procedures in the trucks. If it was ragged on and run around like a soccer mom from day 1, then of course its going to be tired and gutless in some aspects. But if its taken care of properly for the first 1k miles, then it can be everybit as strong as the big blocks. My 6.0 was very healthy and it was an earlier equiped iron head 6.0 motor, of course I also babied it for the first 3-400 miles, I could still roast 33" all terrains and chirp 1-2 and 2-3 at wot. Man that dual exhaust at WOT was like music to my ears.

topic guys...this thread is already long and you're cluttering it up with 6.0 trivia that the rest of us don't care about.

Hey tRusty, think we need a pic or two of your gem in here.

also has to do a lot with your location. unloaded i can get 15-16 all highway doing 65. loaded i get around 10-12. im in colorado so im thinking thinner air means that the computer backs off the fuel, i dont have as much power, but when cruising why do i need a lot of power. i did notice when i was i oklahoma i had more power less fuel. but like avery said we are getting way off subject this is for 1 tons if this needs to be discussed we should start another thread.

mine does have 1 tons...:D

Technically an R30...still a true one ton though.

149.5" wheelbase, TBI 350, SM465, 4.10's (I think)

Runs and drives great. Plans are to convert to 4WD, 6.2 diesel, NV4500/203/205, 4-6" lift (not decided) 37" TrXus MT's, round headlight front clip (already have one) and a short box. Might even make the short box shorter. I kinda want the wheelbase around 135-137" and to have it no longer than a reg cab longbox.

Rene

No, the bed is a local manufacturer. The truck itself was part of a fleet purchase by a local logging company. Around here that box is referred to as a logger box...

Anyways, the truck was bought as a cab and chassis, and the logging company shortened it up and added the box. It came without saddle tanks...and a custom built K5 style tank was added in the rear between the frame rails. It's small...something like 20 gallons. I'll be replacing that with a 31 gallon K5 tank.

Not one option that I can see...didn't even come with a radio.

Rene

Eh, radios aren't hard to install...speakers either...hell, you don't even have 24v fuse spots to worry about.
I'd rather start with nothing and build it up than start with all the useless, worn out, non-functioning trimmings and have to get rid of and replace them.
Vinyl bench seat what?

Oh I completely agree...:D The lack of worn out options was a selling feature for me.

Vinyl benches, both in horrible shape. :p:

here is what 3500 bucks gets you,

arizona speed and marine tpi 454, t-400-205 and some 1 tons with a 4 inch lift.

plan is to move the rear axle forward, convert to a single rear wheel rear axle and front hubs, remove the over loads, shackle flip and a bobbed smaller bed all on 38 inch tsl's:grind::hack::weld:
