I have some ideas floating around in my head for the Trazer. Boatsides is one of them. I need to see some pics of your boatsides. Also if you have an internal rollcage, lets see how it's connected to the floor/frame along with the boatsides.

Thanks.

Mine's probably not "boatsided" quite like you are thinking but his might help.

The way I attached the tube to the frame (the rearmost attachment isn't gusseted because I need clearance for link brackets):

And how boatsided it could have been on a fullsize:

Any more info on that truck from pirate??

I was wondering how you guys tied the boatside to the body/frame?? From what i see it looks like the tubes are welded driectly to the frame, but I was told NOt to solid mount the body to the frame. To me that doesn't make any sense. If the boatside tubes are welded to the frame, and the upper part is welded to the body, then why use poly or rubber body mounts?? Why not just solid mount the body??

Sorry for the hijack, but I thought this question would go pretty good with the rest of the thread...

Was that a power wagon?? Or a dodge in general?

I'm not very up on old dogdes, but there was an older power wagon converted to a tow truck for sale, and the front end looks pretty similar.

The hijack is welcome, I'm not sure on the best way to do this either. I was thinking of the boatsides being mounted only to the body, but then I considered working an exo-cage off of that and that would tie into the flatbed. But I currently have an interior cage and I'm not sure how to go about boatsiding this thing cause the cage is mounted pretty far out towards the rockers.

Could the tubes be welded directly to the boatside skid?

This is what got me thinking:
