Im about 1 beer and a saw-zall away from "de-fanging" my fender but want to do a good job. I seen the write up where the dude cuts the fender and welds back, how big a job is this? Any other avenues to make it look decent?

I did mine long ago. Just cut even with the core support. Today though, I rounded the corner so my 42s don't get cut.

Bad pic. Sorry.

I cut mine at the rad support, sectioned it and redid the body line so it was curved, than plated the bottom... best pic I've got...

My K5. And my burb I sold a while back. Still have the white tube bumper though. Rattle can flames was for my son. A quick & dirty job on one side. Truck will be painted at some point.

Here's mine, no fancy gussets, sectioning or body work. Right now it's even with the valance under the grille but I expect it will need more trimming, probably even with the core support and lose the valance all together -

I know you didn't ask for it but here's the rear of mine also. I cut it up even with the floorpan.

So has anybody cut the fangs off and then wrapped the front bumper around into that space? It looks a bit lower than the top of the frame rails, so the bumper would have to step down or something. Seems like it could look killer and provide great body protection without getting real wide.

(Obviously I'm talking about custom bumpers here, not reworking the stock one)

That's funny. In another thread you said your tires left foot deep ruts in the sand and I was gonna say it wasn't the tires it was your tailpipes. :haha:

:flipoff7:

No reason to fix it when im gonna redo the whole exhaust after the shackle flip

My ORD bumper wraps around some, I'll post some pics of my chopping once I get home :D
