wow what did you use? a gun?
it looks like i will be borrowing a paint gun and attempting this myself....is there anyone that might be able to offer a little insight to this for me? i am a complete noob. so i am wanting just a plain gloss white on the blazer and maybe a pin stripe so what all will i need to do this? thanks

I painted the truck in 96'. Back then I used an old Devilbiss JGA spray gun with a 1.4 tip set-up. The paint is PPG DBU with DAU 82 clear. They still make the color but the DAU 82 clear is obsolete. I'm using the 2082 or 2042 clears now.

For white I'd consider using Sherwin Williams single stage starfire urathane.
It's great paint for the price and it's not much more $$$ than enamel.

Good luck.:wink1:

My girl friend's cousin has painted several cow trailers with a HOUSE PAINT SPRAYER, using thinned rustoleum. Is this a decent idea for my burb? can anyone see any problems with it? He said he'd be more than glad to spray it for me. How many gallons of paint would I need, and what percentages would I mix the thinner with it?
thanks,
James

Heres a couple shots of mine. I did it in a garage with SUPER poor lighting and a ****ty gun which clogged and caused a few runs, but it only cost 80 bucks.:D

Well here is the multi colored thing I started with

I think I had about 200 in paint supplies, sand paper etc. Then we spent like 70 or 80 on new Seirra Classic trim and wheel well trim

It used to be quite darker that pic was from last spring. My dad and I painted it the fall of 2002. Single Stage High Solids is what we used I beleive.

here is a pic of my 87 project. it is like half way done. still gotta paint the back of the cab and the rest of the roof. used some cheap spray paint from lowes home improvement after lots of sanding and can primer.
