Lets see what everyones working with up top.
Safari racks/roof Racks

Light bars? Added backup lights? scene lights?

Im looking to add a large safari rack, with 4-6 lights up front, 2 mounted up top, angled down which would be wired into the reverse lights, and two lights per side for scene lighting. Anyone got pics of anything remotely close to this?

There are few pics of ppls stuff running around. Hopefully they will post em.

But have you thought about how to tie into your roof? Supporting the underside, Ive been thinking about this for some time, just leary about going thru the fiberglass. Thinking of having a custom rack built to go over the cab and then run channels on the roof itself, so the rack could be removed easily.

Thought about that. Most people I have talked to say the fiberglass holds up just fine. if the worst happens, and it caves in, I could find a new top locally for very cheap.

I have the full insulated top, so it weighs ??? hundred pounds. I don't have anything on top but the previous owner put a power glider of some kind on the roof. I use the 4 mounting points to hang the top in the rafters for summer driving. The 4 bolts going thru the top have a washer thats about 3/4" in diameter on them. The top has hung that way for many summers and there is no sigh of trouble.

well, i was thinking of putting up some 4-6 safari lights, but then again it won't fit anymore in the garage...so nothing on top...

What me and my brother came up with was using a lumber rack or contractors rack that goes around a canopy and cutting it to length to support a load, while keeping the fiberglass canopy intact. That should be pretty durable.
