lets see your truck with 38-42" tires

i had built a drop extension for my spring hangers, ill get some more pics up when i get home, it completely screwed the geometry in the front and i couldnt drive a straight line if i tried, it is a hairbrained idea i came up with that didnt have a good outcome, 12" springs are in the future but not in the budget now, it is so big now the rear driveline binds and so does the front, the cv is gone in the front shaft from the last outing i had, when i first did it i just dropped the front spring hangers and kept the stock rear shackles for the front spring, no driveline probs at that point, but could not drive anywhere straight or safe, then after some math to figure out what to do to make all the geometry closer to being right i ended up with a 12" long rear shackle on the front spring:eek1: now drivelines bind and it is deemed unsafe in my eyes to attempt to drive anywhere.

I made shackles 4" longer than stock to test out how much higher I needed to go without being illegal for street use in NJ... drove it and BOY WAS IT BAD!!!!!:haha:

wow I had 12" leafs in the rear of my truck....... even with that I still had the factory rear driveshaft.. dunno if it was still good being a 2 piece setup or not......

and the famous drop brackets

HOLY EXTENDED MEGA SHACKLES!!!!!!
how does it handle?
I went 4" longer to give my truck 2" lift to see my door height for nj legal issues..... and it rode like crap!!!!!

it dosent handle at all, never know what way it will pull, very scary, im an idiot for even thinking this up, but it is all getting torched off in favor of some springs

good idea.. youll be glad you did... or you could have the knuckles turned and that would also fix the driving issues.... around here it is $100 to cut and re-weld the axle :wink1:
