Obviously this is a huge improvement over what most of us are running for a couple of reasons and now that the prices are falling (like the HID kits did after they were out for a while) it's a reasonable option.

I've been cruising around and it seems Rigid Industries makes a nice setup for a reasonable price and I've heard good things about them.

I've been eye-balling the 10" E-Series Bar for the front of my truck but wanted to see if any of you guys have had hands on experience with any of their products. I currently run two 55w Procomp lights and they do ok but I wouldn't mind more light. Especially in an LED package that would draw less power and give more light.

Here's what I'm looking at...

DAMN, $400.00 for a single light. You've got to be off your rocker to spend coin like that for a light that only goes 400'.

holy shyt! i just came off the Vision X site to make a thread about LED lighting...origionally i was gonna put an older clip on my '90 but now i'm thinking of putting a 12" LED bar where the signals are and using an 81-82 bumper for the signals..........hmmm.

"only" 400'? I'm not doing 100mph through the desert. :)
I just need something that fills in better than what I use now.

I'm really liking the idea of some LED lights, they look sweet, provide great light, they are efficient, and the prices are coming down. I think a set of 10-12" ones would look sweet on the front of my Jimmy! :thumb:

Have you looked around on pirate? I remember a topic about LEDs not to long ago but can't remember what section it was in

the tech is fantastic, low amp draw, long life, superior lighting(depending on needs) and small package......but my "hidden" idea will have to keep.....

i was pretty happy with my Daylighters, Hella 220 fogs, Unity spots and rear tractor floods back in the day, guess i'll be looking in that direction again..........$150-$4050!

Save it for a D60 and all the good stuff.

That's happening too, this is just side stuff. :waytogo:

Yeah I've looked around on Pirate, that's where most of the feedback on stuff like this is.

if you have a need for something then it's worth it, like a D60 for instance. if work was good i'd seriously think about it, but i have too many things on my plate as it is.......i'm just blown away by the technology.

I would bet that an LED setup with all of those smaller light sources would produce a much more uniform light pattern. When you take a look at a conventional bulb it has a big, wide pattern for maybe 100'-200' and then it fizzles out to a narrow point with almost no useable light.

The costs will come down on the LED stuff as it becomes more commonplace....and at that point with it's huge power savings and durability advantages over conventional bulbs you could just install as many as you wanted until you lit up the entire state of California! :thumb:

EVERYTHING in my truck, except the forward big lights will be LED..... headlights and OR lights will not, but the entire interior, cargo lighting, etc will be LED.... turns and tail's i'll stay incandescent for awhile...

the tech is awesome.. on a smaller scale light, the price isn't as insane.. big panels, yeah... I've been picking up smaller interior lights from Oznium (thanks to whoever gave me that link.. badmix?) for awhile now.. done a couple smaller orders.. the marine stuff.... VERY impressed with their performance in my trial mock-up's with them...

the only one i need to pick up now is a cargo light... but my expensive tastes have reached their limit on that one... the last one i was looking at was $150... it's really what I want.... but it'll have to wait..

awww man.....i keep reading this thread and i'll have some LEDs before i get the frikkin lift and tires i want! ok, back to reality Bill

Why not for the headlights? They are making LED headlights now from what i read on pirate.
