Let's talk sheetmetal (EDIT: Heck with that, let's use acrylic!)

I'm did the same thing but not to that scale.

I only built a RAID 5 Terabyte (750 gig usable) server last year. I'm using 4 - SATA 250 gig WD Caviar drives on a Promise SX4100 RAID card and a 40 Gig HD for the OS. Win XP Pro for the operating system.

I partitioned the drives into 6 or 8 partitions.

The kids have their own drive for their movies and I have a drive setup for the "grown up" movies. I'm trying to find the software I had that acted as a Tivo server to allow pics and movies on the computer to be played through my Tivos. I can't find it anymore.

My office gets really HOT from the two computers. I'm going to build a storage cabinet and book case for the two computers with a hidden PVC 2" or 3" forced air (cooling fans) into the attic area. I'm going to use small filters for the intake area of the cabinet to hopefully keep the dust build up inside the computers to a minimum. I hope the venting will keep my office a lot cooler this summer.

Amen to the cooling thing. It's nice, now in the cold season ... boot up the fileserver, nice and toasty in here. Come summertime, though...

In my last house I had a bathroom in-the-ceiling fan and ducting, worked pretty well. It was kinda noisy though. I think I heard the Panasonic/Panaflo brand ones are supposed to be whisper quiet.

Also note that a larger fan, all other things being equal, spins slower to move the same amount of air as a smaller one, and is often therefore quieter.
