whats everyone running, lokar, B&M??? My turbo 350 has a shift kit, and a Full manual valve body that allows me to hold any gear at any rpm. But the stock column shifter is annoying as hell and I miss 2nd sometimes and go straight to 3rd. I would like something with a ratcheting action and lock out so I don't skip gears. Just figure I would ask before spending 200 bones on something, I wont like.

On my 79 2wd k5 with a beefed up th350, I had the B&M quicksilver shifter and I loved it. I made a taller base for it though to raise it up. I'm going to use that shifter in my trail rig for awhile, then I may swap to an art carr shifter

I like the gate pattern on the art cars but I don't know if I want to spend the extra 100 bones.

shifters

ive run lokar, i prefer lokars but art carr is perfect for slamming gears if you can be calm on it the lokar is the best of the best but art carr is the best for slamming, b&m mega shifter i broke 3 of em, couldnt take the heat..:D

Well I bought the Zgate B&M cheap, and does what I need, I'm not slamming just want to hit 2nd while climbing hills.

I had B&M in car that I dragged/slammed gears, cable puked. The B&M has a slick feel at the shifter, but that doesn't matter if it pukes. I replaced it with HURST. HURST has a sloppy machanism, but it works. When it came time for a shifter in the Burb, I bought HURST Promatic2. It's tall for trucks. This is with a built TH350 also, not manual body but valve body reprogrammed for select shift. Now I can slam, hold second or first on descent. It's great for trail work.

I payed 105 for the b&m, I'll let you know when I get it installed this weekend.
