I did a search and couldn't find much. Those of you with offroad bumpers, how have you mounted your license plate? Did you mount it on the tailgate? More specifically what did you do about lighting it? It'd be great if you posted up pics. Thanks.

Well I have a tube bumper.

Or if anyone has it mounted on the tail gate.

I just cut out the center section the stock bumper (just enougt to use the top for a light bracket). Drilled it and the liscence plate out to 3/8's and used two bolts to attatch it to the bumper. The bracket sits behind the plate as in factory form but all you can see is the little top peice that holds the light. Bought the light for 4 bucks at autozone and just wired it into my rear tailight so it comes on when I turn on my lights. Not the most fancy, but it works and it cost me 4 bucks... its not the best picture but its all I got, a few posts down there is a side picture of what I did. some reason it wont let me attatch it, sorry. http://coloradok5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=217778&highlight=diy4x+rear+bumper&page=3

I like these two bumpers. Neither are mine but they may give you some ideas.

Mine is mounted on a DIY 4X tire carrier on some poison spyder customs flame gussets that were welded on there by Hartley Truck n Tubing.

Lighting well that for right now is provided by two clip on battery operated lights that are made for a hat brim. I just turn them on when I need them. here is a pic of plate, don't have any of lights.
