Just curious if ANYONE has used a lifetime stainless steel mesh cleanable oil filter on a small block Chevrolet V8? I know all about cleaning out oil strainers after working on Volkswagens for 20 years. Volkswagen air cooled engines didn't come with any oil filter only a strainer and it worked fine. Thanks for all those who take the time to read this post.

Just Google "Lifetime Oil Filters" and it will show up under PurePower as the name of the filters. I don't know if I am allowed to copy a link on this site...........

Just curious - why not just use a normal oil filter? What do you hope to achieve by using this sort of filter? Anything benefits backed by science and results of testing?

Holy cow. I can buy alot of oil filters for that price.
Even if they work the same as a normal filter. It would be hard to recoup your cost....

$250! That would take a lot of paper filters to pay for itself. Not to mention time to clean and if a special cleaning machine is needed.

At $8 a filter I can buy 31 oil filters at that price…if I change it at 3,000 miles that’s 93,000 miles worth of oil changes, I don’t think I’d ever recoup the cost :dunno:

This is what I thought this thread was going to be about.
Racers use these to be able to do a quick inspection on the screen to see if anything is going on.

Also it looks like there are cheaper alternatives.....if you trust them....Screenshot_20230324_202624_eBay.jpg

I think they look good on a dedicated show car. I would want to see some filter tests done like this. Not sure if they filter that good. Purolator is another good option that filters good.

I think the appeal for some might be the idea of not creating all the trash/ waste from disposing of used oil filters.

Agree.
But mostly likely the guys driving around 7mpg big blocks are probably not quite the demographic for these.

Probably part of the reason they're so expensive. Have to recoup investment thru fewer sales.
