Hey guys….

Just got a beautiful 91 with its original K5 stance with the original rally wheels 15x8. I am looking to put a lift and new tires. With that said….

33x12.5x15 with a 4” or,

35x12.5x15 with a 4”

I must say, I do not like a lot of tire showing with such a small wheel. I also will not be doing any hard core rock climbing or intense muddying.

Any suggestions?

By keeping the stock rally's you'll be able to run a little more tire for the lift. The stock offset and narrow width will keep the tires from rubbing the fenders vs a wider wheel or less backspacing (with the same lift).

Why not just go for a 2" lift with 33's?

Good question, wanted possibility of going with 35’s at some point.

Will a 2” give good clearance with 33’s?

I truly want it’s stance to be right. I’ve seen plenty of 4” lifts that look right!

I’m so confused….

I try to only run the minimum lift I need to fit the tires I want to avoid driveshaft angle headaches etc, that said I run a 4” lift and 35s….if I didn’t wheel it I’d run a 2” and 33s

If you're staying mostly street 2" and 33's will suffice and look good. I have a 4" lift with 37's and 17" wheels, with fenders trimmed as well.

Pro comp A/T on Pro Comp wheels.

But I bought it with that set up and when I replaced the wheels and tires I just went with the same sizes 37's on 17" wheels. Once these are done, I may change back to 35's and a smaller wheel, so I can fit in the garage.

Mine didn't like OD on the highway with 33"s and 3.73 gears. It sort of kicked in and out of lockup at around 60-70
I'm told there's a way to change that without gears, but I never looked into it.

2” and 33” if it’s a super nice truck.

I love the look of 4” and 35s but they will hit the front fenders and you will have to trim.

I have stock rally's and some tires in the 12.5 width range will be too wide - not because the fender clearance, but because it will rip the boots off your relay rod/drag link thing if you still have the factory steering design.

My vote is that if you find a nice stock K5 these days... small spring lift 2-4 inches, with decent shocks that fit the stock shock mounts, and keep the tires to something like 32x11.50 or 33.10 / 33x10.5

also, 3.42 gears KICKED ASS in my Camaro, but that was in a CAMARO with smaller than truck tires and a 6 speed stick and all kinds of power...

IS your new blazer auto trans or manual trans?? will make a big difference on tire size and gear combos you will be satisfied with.
My 1988 was fuel injected, manual trans (no overdrive), with 3.08 gears and 31 inch tires... felt about right. would not have felt right with an auto/overdrive trans.
When I switched to 33x12.50 tires, I also switched to 3.73 gears... felt right again, but that was with the manual trans with no overdrive.
