Hello all,

I finished my 4" lift kit Friday and got my 35's on the same day. Problem is that now I have a vibration that I had before but with the bigger tires and lift is now a bad vibration. The vibration is on acceleration only at all speeds best I can tell. I have checked the u-joints and they all checked out good. I did not put the diff lowering kit in cause several people said I would not need it with only a 4" lift. I am going to put that in but don't feel that is going to fix the vibration completely. Any suggestions?

Also I have pics available if anyone is interested in seeing my 85 Jimmy, but I need help posting them.

Thanks, Darren

do a search on here, you may need some degree shims to correct your pinion angle.

welcome to ck5 :D

Darren, dropping your transfer case 1" and maybe a 3 degrees shim in the rear will alleviate most of your vibrations.

Were your tires balanced? This could also be a problem.

The search function is located in the header at the top of the web page, click on that then type what you are looking for....

On the bar above the first post, or first topic of every page, near the right hand side, is a "SEARCH" button. It'll give you a drop down where you type what you are looking for.

I just got done with a 4" lift, and found that I did have a bad u-joint, and maybe the pinion bearing too. I am gonna drop the t-case this week, but look again. I think if you drive it for a bit, with the vibration, you'll be able to isolate it like I did. My Jimmy drove smooth prior to lifting it.

Hopefully you found the Search function...

Regarding the vibes... Get a protractor and get some measurement on your driveline. That'll be the only way you can truly determine what needs to be changed.

where go i get the CV driveline. Talke with several shops around here and they know nothing about it for my model year. Said later years it was standard. Is it something I have to have made special for my vehicle or what?
