lift kit

i am looking at lift kits for my blazer and am not sure what to go with. i am working with a very limited buget but do have some extra money to spend for one. just need advise on which to get or what you have ran or running now that your happy with. thanks
 
Im runnin a 6 inch tuff country all spring lift and pretty satisfied with it. Dont ride like a caddy or nothing but hell I drive a 74 blazer, LOL. it flexes really good. i;ve had 2 tires tucked and it took it like a champ

how much did the hole lift cost you?? also what sizes tires are you running? sorry just trying to get the idea of what the 6 is going to give me for tire size wise
 
Just realize this on a tight budget you are going to have to make some sacrifices.

Its also not going to be a one shot thing.

IMHO the best bolt on stuff out there are lift springs in front, shackle slip in the back (depending on height you may need some lifted springs there too) modfied shock towers to get maximum travel out of your springs and steering modifications, mainly crossover steering.

To do this all at once would not be cheap at all, but it can be done in stages

Get a lift kit that uses blocks out back first. That will get you up in the air. When money becomes available, steering mods (crossover). Next time money comes up shackle flip. Then extended shocks and mounting points for the rear, then extended shocks and mounting points for the front.

A truck can be built on a tight budget if two things happen, you make your truck a priority, and you keep it for a while. Look for used things and be patient.

The other issue with this is you must make a plan. If you change directions midstream it will end up costing you time and money

very true.:bow: and good point on the making a plan, i have a month left in this deployment so i am trying to come up with the best plan to fit me for now and trust me i have been wanting a k5 forever and now my wife got me one so its not going anywhere but up in the air and in the mud and rocks:pimp:.
i have been looking at the rought coutry 6" for a while now but i have been hearing good things about the ez-rides.. i am a new guy when it comes to lifts, so i dont know what the diffrence is....

does anybody have any recomendations for me on lifts?

yea, he said it best, have a plan. I take that back mine is a rough country 6 inch, ran me about 700. got it from a vendor on this site. I'm also running a 3 inch body so my 37's fit nice. One thing I will tell ya is if you go higher than 35's better invest in at least dana 60 and a 14 bolt. It's in my plan, but I'm so rough on the dana 44 and 12 bolt in the last week I replaced a axle in my 12 bolt, went wheelin that same day and grenaded it, and the same day grenaded my 44. I really wish I stayed on 35's.
 
Hey there thanks for doing your part for our nation! I hope the rest of your tour goes well and stays boring:D

I'm building a 91 burb and also on a shoe string budget. I went junk yard shopping and found most of my parts including the steering knukle arm. I used 4" springs in the frt and 6" springs in the back and it sits only a tad higher in the rear. Once loaded down with fuel and camping crap it should ride level. Take your time and look around because there are good deals out there to be had. Good luck.

i just saw a picture someone posted of a Tuff Country spring........sticker said Made in USA. consider this when you make any purchases.
 
Not sure where any of the springs are made but, the best ride quality seems to be tuff (not rough) country ez rides. BDS springs. My older superlifts ride not too bad either.
 
how much lift do you want?

check the classified section here, there are a few for sale now....otherwise rough country is cheapest and comes with shocks
 
hey guys your welcome ont the service part...... i want to do 6" for now just to get me through the tougher stuff. yea tuff country and bds is what i have been looking into.
