Just a question has anyone done 35's with no lift? Looking for the "Original" build lots of travel no lift and 35's! Is it possible a tucked buggy with a blazer body? Not to mention im gonna be building my 79' with lots of pics!!!!!

Just depends oh how much body you want to have left.

If you have no lift and 35s it will be easy in my mind. I have done 38s and no lift on a buddys truck. Not a ton of flex but being that low if you want alot of flex most of it will be downtravel.

Plenty of us run 52s or 56s (between 2-5" of lift depending on how its done) with 40s and bigger.

My truck is about 3" with 42s and good travel.

I drove a M1008 with 35s and no lift. Not much trimming either. I am driving a M1009 right now with 33s and no lift, no trimming.

Depends on the tire brand and wheel width/offset too

This ^^^^. not all tire size is the same. BFG and M/T have the truest size going (from what I remember). BFG 33 is really 32.75 and M/T was 32.88. Some are over and some are under. when researching 33s, some companies were like 32.25, etc.

too many factors as to weather youll rub or not. Worn out suspension, tire offset, rim width, etc etc. There is no direct answer to the question "Will 35s rub with no lift" You run a good chance of it, but too many factors

That's the way to fit 35's, lots of travel out of the stock suspension is not going to happen with stock stuff.

K5cuRbDog, what are you looking at doing suspension wise?

Not sure if i want to do full coilovers or spring and strut but i want some travel to take truck to the dunes (this is my first K5 build)-- Gonna rebuilding a motor that i build for my 82, custom deluxe long wheel base a 350 that was pushing 475 at the wheel base (at the dyno) no one around here had and engine dyno (but no NOS)

You want to do coilovers. You will probably need some lift just to fit all the hardware underneath everything.

I would say don't limit yourself by saying you don't want any lift, make it all fit, with keeping it low a goal. You may end up with 3" of lift or 5 or 6 or whatever. Performance is more important than saying I don't have any lift.

With dunes being the main goal you will want more uptravel than a rockcrawler, so all sorts of body mods to get the tires to stuff.

Another thing to consider with no lift you will probably only be able to fit a 10 or 12" travel coilover without going through the hood. In the rear you will be through the body for sure even with a short coilover.

well only had the truck for almost 2 weeks and was working on the wiring the garage door open and the hood up i left my dog sleeping in the back (its really his truck) hes a half pit half chow wicked combo great dog heard him bark like hes never barked before went outside in his mouth a shoulder of a Hispanic man he was crying and i laughed snaped my fingers after i called the cops he let go guy tried running my dog really wanted his new chew toy didnt make it past the driveway when the cops arrived sheriff laughed said they have been looking for this guy luckely he didnt break **** but my dog broke his skin....
