The lift pump on The Blazer is leaking pretty good when it gets warm. There's diesel all over under the truck and just sitting it leaks a nice spot when cooling down.

I've had bad luck with some aftermarket parts so I like to go ACDelco whenever I can. However right now I can get a $20 plus tax pump from NAPA that goes for $15 plus shipping on RockAuto, a $20 something pump from RockAuto, or a $40 ACDelco pump from RockAuto. The ACDelco part will probably have to wait a while until I can afford it whereas I could probably squeak out the NAPA part tomorrow after payday and maybe have a driving truck sooner. However if it's crap I don't want to waste my time.

Save and wait for RockAuto's ACDelco part or visit NAPA for the el cheapo?

AC Delco...only because it's such a bastard to replace it you don't want to do it more often than you have to.

I've read that the lift pump (mechanical) is the same as a small block fuel pump ,like a 350 uses...true?..if so,I wonder if a aftermarket one by Carter,Holley, etc could be used?.....

I used to prefer using AC parts too, like oil filters and pumps, but even they are being made in mexico or china now in many cases,so now I just buy the parts that cost the least,I am a firm beleiver now that most of the "good name brands" have the same cheap parts in the boxes at twice the price...profit means everything now, quality is not so important as it used to be I guess..

..when I was a parts counterman,Airtex was the "best" pump you could buy--now they have a real poor reputation..I've seen Moog ball joints that failed in less than 2000 miles of normal street use too,and they wouldn't stand behind them because they "didn't actually make that particular part,it was "re-boxed" and purchased from an OEM supplier!..the parts store "ate" them though,so my friend wouldn't take his bussiness elsewhere...the A-1 Cardone company that had a great reputation has also gone downhill I've heard...

I'm willing to bet the AC-Delco's are made in china by now... I've never had a problem buying a cheap replacement lift pump.

I ordered the ACDelco from RockAuto yesterday. We'll see how it goes.
