Lift questions

Okay right now my truck has a procomp explorer lift kit on it. 4" lift in the front with 4" blocks in the back.

I've read tons of threads of people saying to ditch the blocks and go with a shackle flip. My main questions is, what is the difference in the ride with blocks and a shackle flip? Will I beable to tell a difference? Is it just a safety thing? Will I need to buy zero rates if I put shackles in the back to make the truck even in height?

Okay then I guess I'm going to forget the shackle flip. My truck is my DD and my weekend warrior when I have time. Blocks will do :].
