Lift Set Up Q\'s

I have a 91 Jimmy running 35X14,s (stock , no lift)
I have in my yard a set of 54" leafs from a 85 chev 1/2 ton (I thuoght they were 52,s /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif)
Now my question is can I use the 54" springs on the rear and put the 52" springs up front without moving the rear spring hanger (I am going to do the home made shackel flip by cutting the stock hanger and flipping the shackel over)
I don't know if this will give me a bad shackel angle or cause other problems that I don't know about?
I have very limited funds for a lift right now so I am just looking to lift it as cheap as possible to clear the 35's with mild trimming (the /forums/images/graemlins/hack.gif does not scare me as this is not a show truck)
So if anyone can steer me in the right direction I would really appreciate it

BTW , I did search and found a lot of good info but nothing on the 54,s

I think you may be talking about 56's, not 54's. You may have measured wrong, otherwise I am wrong because I am pretty sure chevy only made, 49's, 52's, 56's, and 63's /forums/images/graemlins/dunno.gif

I am not sure but when i pulled a tape on the ones in the truck they were 52" , and when I did it on the loose ones it was 53 1/2 " /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif
I just went strait across from eye to eye , I am not sure if that is the right way to measure them though lol.
So are the loose springs just flatter or are there 54" springs on chevy trucks
I wanted to start this project soon but don't know about these springs now???
Any input on this would be a big help

they must be 56s, the numbers 52, 56, 63, etc are measured with the weight on the springs sitting there. measuring the ones on your rig will net 52" cause thats how they are to be measured. If you install those springs and measure they will be 56.

So I guess I will have to move the rear spring hangar back then to use them ?
If so is it 4" ?
Does this also move my rear end back 2" ?
Will a longer DS be needed ?
Sorry for all the Q's but I want to be sure before I start this lift
BTW , I just looked into picking up a set of 36X12.5 " super swampers so lifting may become a rush very soon /forums/images/graemlins/whistling.gif

OK here's what I want to do...
Put my 52" springs from the back to the front...

Can someone give me a brief start to finish of what needs to be done (ie. drive shaft lengths , shocks , steering etc.)
I have searched through a lot of previous posts and there seems to be a few different ways of doing this.
The best way of doing this is what I am after

Just take the money for the 36" Swampers and find you a cheap lift kit for a few hundred bucks. There out there. I just got rid of my 4" and fit 35's fine with the 4 with not that bad of a rub.
