what do I need to do to my truck to clear 33 inch tires. I have a 1979 Jimmy with heavy duty stock springs. d44 front and a 14blt rear.

I ran 33's on my blazer with just the HD springs, just a little rub on the back corner of the front fender opening. The back would rub the inside of the fender at full compression, but that only happened once or twice.

If you want to play it safe a 2" lift would be plenty.

Sometimes it does depend on the tire brand. Not all truly measure 33"

Four inch lift is the norm around here. Doesn't look , or feel too high. From a price standpoint it doesn't cost much more if purchased as a kit. Would allow 35's later , sometimes without trimming. Pics in my signature link /forums/images/graemlins/k5.gif
