you dont have to get a CV...if you play with the angels most of the time you can get it to work fine without a CV shaft...but if you just dont want to mess around with it get one with a CV

I just installed a 4" Tuff Country front & rear spring kit from ORD a couple of weeks ago. I also put 33's on it. EVERYTHING was off! My rear shaft was 2" too short. The angle was not good either. A good friend of mine is a 20 year driveline guy, & crawled under & took measurements. He told me to do the CV, no doubdt. It wasn't the length so much, but the angle. He said I would be sorry. I took the shaft to Driveshaft Specialists here is San Antonio last week. He said I could pick up 2" with a CV, NOT having to lengthen it. This is due to the different slipyoke & joint. He also said that they would have a used slipyoke on another shaft in the scrap area, which is great. That yoke is expensive new ($60). Balanced, painted, & CV'd should run me $100-$140. Here's a little something else. My front shaft won't bolt up now either. The lift angle won't clear the exhaust in front. SO, it looks like I'll have to chain up the shaft & go get new exhaust. I was going to do this anyways. Also, ALL my brake lines are taut now & need lengthening. The parking brake line won't reach either. Apparently on a first generation, the rear Tuff Country springs are more than 4" due to the location of the hangers. It is quite a bit taller. No butt sag either, even with the top on & tires in the cargo area. GOOD LUCK!

if you go over 2 inches of lift everything must be lengthened.brake lines, ebrakes, and driveshafts.my stock driveshaft busted where the spline go together on the slip yoke when the axle was at full drop over a jump. im thinking of a fixed yoke cv shaft my self

thanks I was trying to decide wheteher to get a 4 6 or 8 inchlift when i ever get the money. i wont be using a cv though
