I recently bought a. 1985 crew cab c30 and have plans for a 4 inch lift and a 4x4 conversion. The only catch is the tire selection for a dually in a 33 or 35 inch tall tire is very limited if you don't want to run a spacer in the rear.

I've been looking at a BFG 255/85R16 which comes out to a 33x10.50 roughly.

I was wondering if anyone knew of any other tires that are tall and skinny I could run on a dually.

Also if anyone has a pic of a crew cab dually with a 4 inch lift and 33's I'd appreciate if you could post a pic of it so I can get an idea if 33's or 35's look better.

I've got an '87 V30 dually that I'm planning to lift 6" and run 37" BFG All Terrains on 17" Weld dually wheels. This will still need 2" spacers between the wheels in back.

http://www.d-90.com/tire/denman.html

the top two tires on this page were offered in this size pretty much a 36x9.50-16 they would fit on stock dually wheels with no spacers . very popular tire with the loggers growing up not sure if there still made now that Interco bought out Denman

even 255/85/16 should have a spacer . sidewall so close that when loaded thay will rub. and rubbing creates heat and kills a sidewall in a tire.

also if running a spacer between the rims you must use a spacerwith a centering ring to hub center the outer tire. drw rims on rear hub center NOT lug nut center. this can cause vibration problems if not done correctly since the spacer moves the outer rim off the machined surface of the hub to center the rim.

here is some nice spacers i have used for customers rigs in the past. yes pricey but nice. http://www.wheeladapter.com/dually_spacers.php with these i ran a 265/75/16 load range e tire on the rear of a gm drw and loaded thay didnt rub sidewalls. might be able to do a 285/75/16 then but not sure if side walls will rub .

You could get some H1 wheels and run something in the 16.5" rim sizes.

Ok we'll there doesn't seem to be much options out there so I guess I'm gonna look at the wheel spacer side of it.

I've heard a lot of bad things about rear dually spacers and it kinda makes me gun shy about running them on a tow rig so my question is who runs them and do you trust them?

Also would a 315/75R16 fit on the stock 16x6 dually wheels

They aren't meant for it but you can squeeze them on there.

Are you opposed to a bias ply? I love my 9.0x16's, there's a 2 inch spacer on the rear, but they don't stick out past the fenders. I've given the spacers a lot of stress, no issues.

*edit* OK, I guess they stick past the fenders a little bit.

That's exactly what I was looking for. What kinda spacers do you have and what's the name of those tires. I couldn't figure out what they were called

Truck looks good USSkoval. Kinda look like like a Ground Hawg. His Sig line says 9.00-16 Power Kings

You already got your answer from sweetk30.
The problems people have come from using regular spacers not dually spacers.

Ok we'll apparently I can't read anymore lol thanks for those of you highlighting the obvious answers for me lol.

Ok I've searched tirerack tire discounters and s&s tire but I can't find a dealer for these tires.

Where do I get them at

do we need to lead a horse to water ? ? :haha:

click link i posted then find dealer button on top of there page. there in florida . i bet if you pay thay will ship them. or know of a more local dealer.

have a good day . . :thumb:

About a year ago I talked to a guy at NTB, he said he could order them for me if I wanted a couple more.

Yea I've been getting on some tire websites and no one seems to sell them or advertise them. I have a local NTB i think I'll go ask them about getting some ordered.

I thought I could order them straight from their website but I think that's only for tire shops and buisnesses and stuff, I don't think you can order them for yourself

I love that last pic, Great Rig, nice trailer & a gorgous tractor that is the right color. 1066?
