!@#$ lifters!!! UPDATED

One was knocking so it was replaced. Still knocking. So take a look at all of them they are scratched up. New lifter set. If they are scratched I wonder about the cam now come to think of it. Two front driver side lifters don’t shoot oil at all!! Just dribble dribble. The rest shoot like crazy. What gives what I am I missing here?? thia ia being a real PIA. thanks mike

Well, i tried, sub is going to a shop now. I need it to be fixed right and cheap now it looks likt i am forced to sell it. Someone will get a good truck. This sucks!! When i told him what i did i saw$$ in his eyes.........

What did the lifter bore look like? They rotate in the bore. Did you hone the bores before you installed new lifters? Real parts stores have hand hones to do that /forums/images/graemlins/k5.gif

one thing I have learned about engines is you cant just replace the parts that are broke...U have to first find out what broke them! lifters dont just go bad something caused that, and now U have to find that out and fix it, or else you'll just put in new lifters only to have to replace them soon down the line. just my .02 /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

are you sure it's the lifter knocking /forums/images/graemlins/thinking.gif i can't say i've heard a lifter knock maby the rocker might rattle but that be caused by it being out of adjusment. Iv'e seen the lifters spit oil but usually soon as you rev it up it starts shooting out a little harder.
could it be a rod making the noise /forums/images/graemlins/dunno.gif

The motor has 600 miles on it and i think there was a clown that rebuilt it. I guess the next thing would be to look at the cam.
