When I go to lift my blazer I want to put a 14 bolt rear end an a dana 60 front.
My 88 is all stock now don't know if I should also change the transfer case also..
I have dual shocks in front an makes a real tuff bumpy ride . What would u guys recomend?

I ditched the quad front shocks on mine and put in the F*rd shock towers and long shocks. Much better ride and a fairly easy mod. There's quite a bit of info on that if you do a search.

That's got a NP208 t-case which is decent. It is chain drive and an aluminum case with a slip yoke. So it's definitely not the strongest but I wouldn't change it out until I broke it.

def lose the dual shox
the 208 is weak, but keep it cuz swaps are no phun
what size tire you wanna run, cuz THAT is the starting point as where ta go from there

I wanna go with 38's

I use to live in Renton many years ago....just picked up my old 89' in Seattel a few weeks ago and drove it back to Colorado! :haha:

Anyways, the PO put on 37" tires along with, I think, a 6" lift. Single shocks up front and what I can tell you is that it's no cruiseliner! Very bouncy for sure so be ready for that. It does make it a little more difficult driving around.....especially if you're going to be driving it around on the freeway all the time in rain.

Maybe there are ways to dampen it a bit but I wouldn't expect it to be close to a stock ride.

What are your wheeling plans? Unless you are looking for super low gearing, a multi speed case, plan to beat the hell out of it, etc...there's not really any advantage to swaping t-cases. The 208 is plenty strong for a mild wheeler/DD.

A good set of shocks will prevent the suspension from bouncing, but the leaf springs are what determines the ride quality. I have ~4-5" lift with the 52s up front and it rides better now than it did stock.
