I'm about ready to put a body lift on a '91 K5 I have here and don't have access to any lifts, skidsteers, etc.
So, I'm just gonna do it with a floor jack by jacking one side of the body up to put the pucks in and fingertighten the bolts. Jack up the other side and repeat the process.

My question is, where is the center of gravity on these bodies in order to put the jack on so both the front and back raise up equal heigth?

My guess would be somewhere at the rearward part of the doors.

Anyone else know?

I would spred the load so you don't accidentally bend anything. When I put the B/L on Ratzila's 91 (now mine) I put a 3' section of 4"x4" horizontally along the underside of the rocker and then put the floor jack roughly at the rear of the door. This worked great for me and lifted the whole side like a charm - once I figured out I needed to unhook the stupid tailgate springs. :doah:

I did the same thing. 4x4 block and lifted just under the B pillar. I didn't do anything with the tailgate spring.

I did run into slight shift of the body when I lifted it up - It was a b!tch to get it back lined up.

i did mine on jackstands with no axles under the truck..it was scary at best but i got it done..i used a block and i had already lost the tailgate and half the body so the springs werent a problem for me
