Finally, after 2 years, my truck is sitting back on all four tires, with two brakes and no gears. But, I have finally passed an important milestone. I rebuilt the 400 again, and installed a 203 output shaft in it. I got the doubler hung finally for the last time, which took much more work than I had anticipated. I figured with the 3in body lift I could easily get the aluminum plate above the frame rails (hangs a bit below the 203 bottom), but that is not the case on my 2wd half ton body and the 205 rotated flat, being a Ford one also caused serious cutting of the floor, so some cutting and fixing, its finally in. I now have an almost level drivetrain, with just a hair of the aluminum hanging below the frame rails. Not bad, cant complain. I have 20-+ ft of 1' 3/4" .120 wall tube to make the mounts with, but have since decided to use that for one slider, and make my mounts and crossmembers out of 3/8" flat plate bent and welded up for maximum belly height, keeping in mind my future plans with the truck. So now I am just some mounts, 2 bearing kits, 2 modified driveshafts, 1 set of rear brake lines, exhaust and lugnuts away from being able to move under its own power. So, I can see the faint light of success just out of my reach.

My membership has lapsed of course, have to work on that.

Yea, a 79 60. Finally got it mostly finished, I need inner axle shafts (dont really want to run the necked down ones with my new 35spline outers), and need bearings and seals for it, and the 14ff in the back needs bearings as well.

39.5x18 Boggers, and went from 5.13s to 5.38s, which are currently sitting in the living room as a perch for the cat.

aw man I got a new set of 5.38 gears for that exact combo with install kits . . . . . don't need them ether would have made you a deal .

Figures right, I also need a 14ff carrier, as my old 5.13s were not "thick", which is the only reason I even need new rear bearings, I'm afraid to press them off.

Alof of my problem came down to motivation, but I am helping a friend build a nice family hauler mobile around who I used to wheel alot with when we were kids. Hes building an s-10 with 3/4s, 35s, 52in spring swap front and a 5.3. We flexed it out yesterday on some old 33x12.5s and it could get on top of my 40s the way it sits, impressive for a s-10 blazer on leaves. So finally knocking the dust off this turd and getting it done for wheeling trips this summer. May 14 is actually finish date, because the wheeling trip I want to go on starts at 7am the 14.

Working on it Martin, its a shame I pretty much gave up drinking in 2012, or this wouldnt even be a problem. She allowed me to spend all our money on this so its ready, and I didnt even think about my membership till afterwards. Which sucks, as I have tons of pictures of how a doubler does not fit, and how I made it fit. Back to the garage for awhile, need to mount my B@M shifter down and figure out some sort of large boot for the shifters. My interior is done, minus 8 of the relays I cant find in stores to power my still slow but all new windows.

You can put a LOT of photos there before they start hitting you up for any $$$.

I feel bad doing that, and I have not messed with photo bucket in awhile. Guess I can plink around on there now. Got the inside together, surprised the shift cable works, time will tell if I need a new one or not. I need to find those 5 post relays somewhere and order 10 of them so I can do my power windows and redo my headlights. Then the inside is totally finished minus a boot of some sort for the new shifters, and a CB and cup holder combo to cover the hole I cut in it when I swapped bodies. I am picking up 10ft of 3/8s plate 4in wide for the doubler mounts, and probably 50ft of more 1' 3/4" .120 this week for the other slider and some other stuff I need tube for. That should physically hang the doubler, and leave me with 1 rear 1350 slip joint driveshaft I will need to shorten, a front 1350 CV shaft for the front will need to be hunted up, braided brake lines for the rear to the calipers, a master install bearing kit for both 14/60, and shocks all the way around, as the RS9000 I have now I just noticed are not so good. So, my May 14th trip isnt terribly out of realistical probability, and the East Coast Bash being afterwards is an easier one to make hopefully.

Alright, I will bite for a bit till I can get my membership back up and running. How do you use photobucket, i guess my very minimal internet skills have failed me, I cant figure it out.

1) sign up for a photobucket account
2) upload photos
3) copy the "direct" link from the picture you want to post over here
4) select the image button in the reply and paste the link from PB
