So, im lookin for a blazer specific light bar, and roof rack. I see pictures in the "pics thread" but i cant find anything online. The lightbars I find are "universal" JC whitney crap, and i cant find anything as far as roof racks, or "safari" racks. Would the fiberglass top support a loaded roofrack?
I dont want to add support for a roof rack, because i plan on taking the top off alot in the summer months.
Any links guys?

I have no links for you but I have seen roof racks on blazer tops, and my top had holes in it from a previous owner having a rack on it, it holds up fine.

I had 4 guys on the top of my Blazer about a year and a half ago at a local mudrun. If it can support up to around 650lbs i think it can take a little bit of what you can throw at it ;)

Not sure where to find them but they're out there somewhere. May have to buy used

^My brother in law has one of those, but he won't come off of it for cheap:doah: I think I'll just buy a new one.

This rack was on my truck when I bought it (seen here prior to lift, 1 tons, and 37's) and at one point I transported 5 35" MTR's mounted on steel rims all on the roof rack...worked great. The only reason I took it off the truck was so the truck would fit under the roof of my shop.

As for where to get one, this one looks like it was a home brew by the previous owner. If, like me, you take the roof off in the nice weather, the rack gives the added bonus of a convenient way to hoist it :)

On this light bar note, most i have seen attach to teh rain gutters. Anyone ever mig'd the top of their rain gutters to teh roof? I went to check the screws on mine, and many kinda spin/are stripped. Decided to leave well enough alone.

But a loaded 8pr ski rack has got to put some stress on there. I wonder if its worth stripping the paint when i do the roof, and getting someone at a body shop to run a bead along the top of them before i repaint.

Dont' really plan on running much more than a ski rack on those gutters, but don't want it to fail....

I got a good deal on a suburban sized roof rack (5x7) and cut it down to fit the rear top only. bolted it straight to the fiberglass top and it's held-up great on a couple hard runs w/ a 37" Swamper on top, plus some tools and spare parts, maybe 200lbs of stuff. It's a Defender Rack. I haven't welded the rear section back on yet, I might leave it open, just weld up the open tubes - easier to roll the spare on and off. the blazer top seems to be very sturdy
