Has anyone ever mounted one of these on a K5?

its a CARR brand, Powdercoated black. Thinking this way if I still mount a Roof Rack later I wont be dependent on the top being on for additional lighting.

how did you run your wiring? where the top and cab meet?

i put one on a old suburban i had. pretty simple they pretty much clamp down on the rain gaurd, pretty easy. you just have to cut them to fit. then you pry down on the clamps and tighten them with a allen key.

sounds like it and 4 hellas are the plan, how did you guys route your wireing?

i had one on my old grey truck, i just drilled a hole in the roof and ran it down the rear door pillar, and siliconed around the wiring, but some ppl are scared of drilling into their trucks, ive seen it going in through the doors and in the rear window on trucks, they put a weatherpak connector in for easy removal

the PO had a hole drilled that came down almost directly above the dome light. And then ran the wires all the way around down the plastic trim just ahead of the removable top .

I have the Carr Roto????? unit. I like it, just clamps to the drain rails. I chose the roto version so that I could rotate the light down out of the way in low overhead clearance areas. Works great.

could you get a messurement of how high the bar is from the roof when its rotated down?

Thanks

the way i wired it was i connected all the lights to one of those trailer quick connects for the tail lights and i just run it through my rear sliding window that way i can just disconnect it when it rains or if i just want to take the bar off

Normally I would, but I'm not at home right now. When I rotate mine down, the lights would almost touch the roof and the highest point of the bar was about 2 inches from the roof. Basically same bar height, just minus the extra height of the lights.
