Lincoln lock?

I welded up my rockwell last night and put it together today. Everything seemed great until I put the spindles on. It takes alot more torque to turn the pinion than it should. Is this common on locked axles or do I have to take it apart to because the side gear may not be properly seated in the carrier?

nevermind. figured out my own problem...turns out I had the kingpin caps reversed top and bottom thus angling the knuckle and spindle down which caused the shaft to bind.
