Well after drooling over Badmix's post for weeks, I decided to get a linex interior myself. After a couple weeks of slow but steady prep work, I have a nice clean interior that I can hose out. I'm pretty happy with it. Here are some pics:

Damn nice man, I'm in the starting phase of doing a little bit of cancer repair that I found and am going to do the same thing. What kind of prep work did you do?

I too am looking into a line -x interior .. what did you pay if you dont mind me asking . and what did you use to prep the floor?

The obvious stuff, rip out seats, carpet, padding...etc. The glue on the wheel wells was a real pain. I ended up using a blow torch to melt the adhesive off.

Then I had to melt off the rubber mat stuff on each of the footwells. A torch and a scraper for that.

After that I had to replace the fuel filler cover and put in a small patch panel to cover some rust (near the fuel filler cover also).

That's pretty much all I did other than just wipe everything down a little. The most difficult part of the job ended up to be getting one of the seat belt bolts out of the floor. The torx head stripped and I had to drill it out.

It cost me $750+ tax, so $798 out the door.

Ugh that brings back memories of prepping to paint my floor. After going through a handfull of razor blades I wised up and used a heat gun.

I got the seats back in today

My interior work is now complete, I've nicknamed the project "Bruiser" since it's black & blue inside ;)

Now its time to go back and fix my leaking motor...

Like it.

Does the Line-X seem to absorb sound at all?
Getting mine done with Rhino pretty soon but I'm a bit leary of it getting louder without the carpeting and insulation in the rear.

Not sure yet, It's suppossed to. I haven't put the top back on since I got it done, so its loud anyway (just glasspacks)

Mine's a diesel so it's loud no matter what. I pulled the front carpet out but I just don't want it to end up TOO LOUD as it's my DD.

It's definately not too loud. I'd be fine driving it daily, even with the top off. So I'm sure once the top is back on it will be fine.

My pickup has NO sound deadening at all so that's kinda why I'm leary of pulling the carpet. Rationally I know it shouldn't be as loud but still, it worries me. Single again, gotta not let this one get so crude it scares the wimins.

Al's Liner and TSC

Bryan at Triangle Specialty Coatings did mine yesterday for 450 with Al's. It's a little shiney for my taste but I like it.

line-x

would just sanding over the stable original floor paint and grinding down rusted surface to good metal for prep be good enough then wiping clean with some surface cleaner like acetone then line-x or al's liner. would this be correct prep ? kinda new to this. thanks

Nice looking job man...looks like it turned out really nice. I'll be doing pretty much the same thing to my blazer!

I've done a few differant applications and to tell you the truth...the first few Rhino projects i did the prep work to the "T"
- Sand down everything and remove surface rust
- Use Compressed Air to blow out all debree
- Whipe all metal surfaces with acetone (even used isopropal alcohol
- Then apply the liner and sealer

Then i got lazy one day after i bobbed the bed on my buddy's truck and sprayed the bed down with water and swept it out and applied the liner. Haven't seen much of a differance in the end product honestly. His truck has the same lining in the bed 4 years later and still looks about the same. No chipping or cracking or peeling and his bed gets used often!

Looks real nice! I'm about to redo my interior next week and was pretty solid about line Xing but decided to go with sound deadening and either vinyl or carpet for the front and deadening in the back with vinyl or some kind of strong rubber matting, this line x IS looking real nice tho... hmmm.
