A buddy is linking his rear, and wants to know what is OK as far as how much thread in the tube is safe. His link tubes have 2 1/2" of thread and so does his link ends. How much of the link end needs to be in the link to be safe/strong? Thanks

The rule of thumb is one diameter, so I'd assume 1-1/4" in this case. The more the better though.
