Cam someone post the link to what trucks have Dana 60's from the factory I can't find it here, Maybe it's on Pirate? AARRGGHH!

Any GM 1 ton from 77-91, K series. The 87-91 were changed to V series. One tons ONLY. Ford and Dodge it was optional to get a 60 up front on a heavy 3/4 ton, and of course one tons. Both had the prior of 77, but think they were smaller shafts/joints. But figure the good ones were 77 and newer, up to 79 for Ford. Ford started to use them again in one tons only in 85-86. Both went up to 92-ish, then went with ball joints. Help any??

I really need to get a left drop pumpkin as I'm still running that old Dana 24 Transfercase...

Hmmm left drop sitting in the drivers seat or looking at the front of the truck? If you mean drivers drop then thats a ferd product right there.

As far as I know:

Driver drop Dana 60's
Are in Ford onetons

Passenger drops
Chevy 1 tons, Dodge 1tons and optioned 3/4 tons.

Yer military left son!:D

Left as in your sitting in the driver seat. yes Dana 24 was only a ford product to my knowledge. but, it's all gear driven and tough as nails.

so, Need a list of relatively late model Dana 60 equipped trucks, left side pumpkin...

I should put on my big girl pants and venture over to the land of swords and booty(Pirate4x4) AARRGGHH!:D

They know all about the 60!

Ford is the only one worth bothering with for driver drop 60. Dodge used them in 94-up, but not as good as the older ones....

Ford 60 = driver side pumpkin. If you want to spend $, see Wayne at Teraflex and check out the Tera60R.:pimp:

Yep, most (if not all) 3/4 ton later model (90's and up) Dodge diesel trucks and all later model 1 ton Dodge trucks have driver drop D60's up front.

The latest ones (2000's maybe?) have smaller 32 spline shafts. Many have a two piece shaft on the passenger side too (to disconnect the front axle while not in 4WD).

If you could find one with 35 spline shafts and without the central axle disconnect it would be a perfectly good front axle IMO.

The balljoints and unit bearing hubs aren't nearly as bad as everyone makes them out to be.

If I could get a hold of one of those dodge axles, then swap out the two piece axle, to a 35 spline set up,HMMMM:thinking:

Let me spell it all out :D.

GM 77-87/91 pass drop 3.73,4.10,and 4.56 gears

Ford pre 77.5 low pinion,some open knuckle,some closed,external hub
77.5-79 high pinion 3.54 and 4.10 gears
85-91 high pinion kingpin 3.54 and 4.10 gears
92-97 high pinion balljoint 3.54 and 4.10 gears
99-04 D50 high pinion 3.73,4.10,and 4.30 gears POS unit bearings
05+ D60 high pinion 3.73,4.10,and 4.30 gears big @$$ tubes POS unit bearings.

Dodge 7?-93 pass drop Kingpin 3.54,4.10,4.56,4.88 and maybe 5.88 gears
Dodge 94-02 Balljoint POS CAD,POS unit bearings, 3.54 and 4.10 gears

The Ford D50 solid axle and D60 from 99+ and the 94-02 Dodge D60's cab be upgraded to lockout hubs using the 85-97 TTB D50 knuckle out.

I think this covers most info on D60's

I have one of those 94+ dodge axles if you're interested.

Go ask some of the Dodge guys over on www.PavementSucks.com about those Dodge D60's of the 94-02 era and you'll probably be offered more. Definitely a step or two behind the "regular" D60's in most ways.

I know at least some if not all of the 94-02 Dodge 60s are 32 or 33 spline inners in addition to all the other worthless junk on them

...yep, with the infamous D44 sized inner shafts.
