Ray Reynolds submitted a new Build:

My first truck that im going to "restore". The outer body is in amazing shape but thats kind of where the good news stops. The truck has had its share of "mechanics" work on it and they have done nothing but wrong. I knew the truck was in rough shape when I bought simply because the motor was seized but some one very crudely changed it TBI to a 4 barrel and thats where all the wiring just beggins to frustrate anyone looking at it. I kinda knew it would be a challenge when the previous owner told me he pulled the 5.7 out of it and put a 350 in it because the 350 was a better motor...True story...

How hacked is the TBI wiring? Still using an in tank pump?

Might be easier to with one of the aftermarket stand alone injection systems.

Oh it's hacked to death. If I was to go back I'd have to replace it. I also have a lq4 in real good shape. Thought about going that directing over next summer

Agreed... But I'm going to put the 350 that I have in it for now... That and clean up the cobbled engine bay

Hold out for a 5.7 man, much better motor...
