Hey everyone... what do yall mainly use for best quality parts but also affordable? Is LMC over priced or fair? Is most their stuff pretty good quality? What other companies are out there that y'all like for restoration type parts? Thanks for the help!

It seems to me that in terms of overall parts (from seals, to trim, to drivetrain) LMC is investing the most money to bringing stuff to market. One company may have a better repop dash, one may have a better door seal, someone has a better price on an air cleaner housing...but LMC has repopped gauges, made clear dome light lenses to work better with led's, and brought seals to market that were previously unavailable, among other achievements. I want to say they also repopped the tachs that were unobtainium years back.

My dealings with their customer service has been positive, and that for me also goes a long way. They also seem to continually improve products...stuff that years ago didnt fit or fell apart rapidly you no longer hear complaints about.

Very rarely will I waste time trying to find affordable quality anymore. If they can cut cost, normally it's done through cutting quality. Might find a nice replacement chrome bumper somewhere that is half the price of another for example...but the reason the price is double is because it was plated properly, not cheaply. I guess if you need something to last long enough to sell, there is a place for that kind of stuff. Or if originality isn't important but function is.

Most things available I'd bet are only made by one or two factories, but pretty hard to tell that when price shopping. I dont shop too much, but just seems overall, LMC has many parts no one else does.

Usa1 has put alot of effort into sourcing the closest to OEM and some really good quality parts. They actually manufacture some items instead of reselling what's already available. They are still pretty small potatoes but are getting big rapidly. May take a little longer than a giant warehouse team to get your product shipped.

Classic parts is a good one that I have had good luck with. Everything I have gotten there seems to be ok. And I didn't feel like I got ripped off price wise.

I have bought quite a bit of stuff from Brothers Truck Parts and the quality seems good. Shipping is pretty slow though.

ecklerstrucks.com and GMCPauls.com (a vendor here).

My 59 Apache is on an 87 C10 chassis. I have been buying a lot of stuff for the chassis from LMC. Everything seemed to be good quality and fit well except for the rear suspension front spring hangers. They were really screwed up. The spring eye bolt holes were crooked so the leaf springs were twisted. I contacted customer service, told them I wanted my money back and not an exchange since I was just going to sandblast and paint the original hangers (I was trying to do things quickly). They reimbursed me for the hangers and didn't even want me to send the old ones back

I got some Blazer top slider felts from LMC. The shipping was ridiculous (like as much as the seals cost $25) The fitment is not even close. Completely unuseable. I called customer service and they asked me to research what seals might be correct and informed me that I would be responsible to pay return shipping.

Good to know about the spring hanger quality from LMC..
Even some OEM ones I've seen my friend install on some Ford trucks, look rather cheesy and thin, and poorly stamped ..

I may be in the market for a rear leaf spring front hanger, and LMC and only one or two other online sources list one for sale..
Price was ridiculously high ,like $110 !..
(I bought GM ones years ago for $20 something bucks!)-

Drivers side hangers on the rear spring both have some rot damage- front hanger has one side of the "triangle" gusset piece closest to the tire rotted ,about 3/4 of the way up from the bottom and has separated where it bends over where the rivets go on it..

The rear one has a bit missing on the lower part where road dirt collected and rotted it..but neither one is in imminent danger of failing, and I can weld patches on them..will probably go that route ,because de-riveting spring brackets and cab mounts sucks, and may end up doing more damage to the frame itself in the process..

I may not be up to the task though--and the bed really should come off too,so some other areas needing a few welds or small patches can be reached at the same time..another "project" I wanted to get done that failed to see the light of day thanks to the crappy "summer" & spring we had--went from monsoon rains to tropical heat & humidity..:mad1:

As far as just auto parts Napa Auto Parts carries the Delphi line of GM Original Equipment parts, which are comparable to AC/Delco.

Usa1 has put alot of effort [..] May take a little longer than a giant warehouse team to get your product shipped.

I like USA1. Quality product, the best dyes in the game, terrible shipping, order your stuff 3 or 4 months early

Brothers has customer service

LMC has parts

Truck shop of Orange County is good

Classic Industries also can be a source for some parts. I've found a few parts there I haven't been able to find anywhere else or at a better price, shipping included. It seems to me that shipping often becomes the determining factor if quality is the same. I, personally, will spend an hour or so online shopping for the best quality, price and shipping since I have more time than money nowadays.
I agree, GMC Paul can be a good source since 1) he knows our vehicles and 2) is quality conscious. I will pay more to get what I know to be a good quality part over a cheaper part that the quality is suspect on.
Just my 2 cents worth.

For just general auto parts I typically go to either RockAuto or Advance Auto Parts. If I can wait a few days RockAuto usually has some of the best prices on most stuff, if I need the stuff right away I will do the buy online and pickup in store at Advance, and always using 20-30% off coupons and my rewards points (even with that they are usually a little more expensive than RockAuto, but if you need the stuff now....). Advance sells a lot of the "name brand" parts and just not their house brand generic stuff.....though "name brand" doesn't necessarily mean better quality nowadays.

For specialty parts I've bought a few things from LMC and was never overly impressed.
