I'd like to use the rubber floor mat and am trying to get an idea of the thickness. It says it comes with 36 ounce jute padding. I was also planning to get the heat shield and sound deadener, but don't want to overdo it.

Anyone have any experience with this? For reference the part numbers I'm looking at on LMC are:

38-2888 - Heat shield
38-2906 - Sound deadener
38-2880 - Rubber floor covering

Thanks!

I’ve got the Auto Custom Carpet brand rubber floor/jute padding in mine. It might be 1/8” thick at the most. It’s about as effective to heat dissipation as if I used a bed sheet.

I added a layer of Reflectex under my jute and rubber floor and it’s better but I can still feel heat coming from the floor and firewall.

I will probably put something in that is much more effective to block heat than what I already have.

So get whatever you can to put in before the rubber mat as it’s not going to do anything by itself.

5ml kilmat, double foil bubble insulation, and then mass backed carpet from ACC. The sill plates are a little bit high now.

50mil kill mat 50sgft.
2 layers (I think) and some carpet that came with the sound deadening padding for the C10

K5 got about 2-3 layers then a used c10 carpet piece
