Locating a TH400.

If you have a phone book (usually a big yellow one) they put wrecking yards under "auto parts - used" or "auto wreckers/salvage". Call around to each one and tell them what you are looking for and they could tell you if they have it.

But what I like to do is post a wanted ad in the wanted forum on this site and if anyone has a good one for sale they will usually let you know. Its usually cheaper and easier to buy from a private party if you know how to make sure you are getting what you want.

hell ya!

You know when you find that turbo 400 in the junkard all taken apart. /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif
That would be me.. Go to the junkyard, pull a th400, take it apart and pocket the few internal pieces i needed during my rebuild. Makes my day, but ruins yours. /forums/images/graemlins/ignore.gif /forums/images/graemlins/whistling.gif /forums/images/graemlins/rotfl.gif

Get yourself about $1,000 together, surf the wanted ad's and prepare to bargain on it.

Hello,

You will pay any where from $50 for a core and about 150-350 for a good th 400 for a fourwheel drive. If interested give me a call at (830) 583-5437 because I just pulled a rebuilt th 400 out of a 78 3/4 ton that had a np 203 behind it the truck had a blown motor. The transmission oil is bright red and this is the K case with the alumniun cover. I live about 6 hours south of you and would be willing to meet you half way at College Station.
