Any one using a lock-rite locker in rear diff? do you recommend it? I would be using it in DD and some casual off roading. mostly in Snow and mud

Not in a daily driver, I have never run one in mine, especially won't after runnin with a friend that had one in his for awhile. It pops, engauges, dissengauges and just does all sorts of weird stuff driving down the road.

Going absolutely straight didn't ever seem to be an issue, but even on the highways wherever there was a curve of any kind, it would always bang and jerk the truck around on him.

I have one in ther front diff, and other than going with an air activated system, this is the best thing I have run so far that is sort of selectable, meaning I lock the hubs, but keep the transfer case in 2wd until i absolutely need it, so I can steer easier, otherwise as long as torque is applied to the driveshaft fromthe motor, it locks in.

I of course still have the factory steering, which is a main reasin for the need to select in and out of 4wd.

I had the front completely locked once, ran a Gov-loc as a trial thing for a bit, neither was working like i wanted, the Loc-Rite is it so far.

I got one in a D44 rear for the last 7 years, like it pretty well, but its in a Jeep. Kinda like the clunk, clunk, clunk going around corners too.

Ive have one in my 10bolt for over 8 years. While my truck isnt a DD, I drive it all the time. Just got back from a 1200mile round trip to TN and back, never any issues. You do get the clicking going around slow parking lot type turns. Every so often youll get it "hang up" and youll get a very loud BANG that feels like something gave way but its just part of it. Otherwise they are great. Im a light to moderate off roader, so I dont beat on my truck, so I dont know how good they are in some sever conditions but for moderate use, they are great IMO>

I have had one before, in probably the worst vehicle you could have one in, a lifted zuk.

I would run one again in a heartbeat.

It takes some getting used to but its no problem at all

I run them in the front and rear. And this truck was dd until recently. Had them in the rear of my last truck too. Takes some getting used to, yes. But seems to work just fine in dd use.

Currently have one in my 67 Beaumont, works great. Only thing is wheel hop has incurred some damage to it. As it would skip, not want to lock etc. I have since flipped it to drive the other way, prob put a hundred miles on it like that. Its now working good. Going to add traction bars in the spring.

Had one in a 84 K5 I recently got rid of, worked great. No complaints.

Also had a Powertrax No Slip in a 97 GMC, worked exceptionally well and was very quiet compared to a lock rite.

I have them front and rear in my truck and they can be a bit rough at times but you quickly learn to adjust your driving to smooth it out. They are fine for a DD and my truck used to be my DD. I love it when you accelerate hard out of a turn and that inside wheel churps along  But now with the power I'm putting down both tires break loose and I go sideways :doah:

I've had one in my 12 bolt for about 4 years now and I use my K5 as a DD, you just need to adjust the way you drive when turning lay off the gas.
