I saw this Lock Rite on Ebay and I was just wondering if anyone could look at it and tell me if it looks like everything is there with it and if it will work with my Dana 60 and if the part number is right. Also if anyone has installed a Lock rite, id like to know what im in for when I do it.

What size tires do you plan on running? A couple of people and a diff. shop told me to save for the detroit if i planned on running anything bigger then a 35-36" tire.. So you might want to look into that before you buy it.

It looks all there to me but are you sure you want one for a 60? I have one in a 12blt but I treatr it like a 12blt. I don't know how good they are to standing up to the sort of power you can put through a 60. Having said that, there are a couple of members who have it in a 60, they may chip in.

If this is for your 60 front then you will need new side gears as that one is for a 30 spline according to the questions at the bottom of the auction. I dont have one mine is welded thanks to readymix :D but there does not appear to be much contact area on those teeth to hold much power:dunno: . If you are gonna run hydro assist I say weld it and save the money:D .

I thought 30 spline was what I needed?

Dana 60 front axles are 35 spline on the inner shafts and 30 spline on the stub shafts. That, I am assuming, is where the confusion is.

Dana 60 rears are commonly 30 spline.

i know a guy with good experience with the d60 lock right with 38.5s and they work good when they are new, i had a used one and the teeth were chipped off and it slipped violently

I bought a new Lock-right that's in my front D60 and has 38x13 TSLs, been going strong for several years now and has survived a snapped necked-down inner and two broken 30-spline stubs. A friend of mine did the same on his 7,000 lb. big-block truck with 38's and beat on if for awhile with no issues, though he did strip some teeth on it after going to 42's.
