Locker choice.

I had one in the rear of one of my trucks that had absolutely beautiful street manners but i dont think its the best choice for severe trail use, however it has no clutches meaning nothing to replace. The tru trac is also significantly cheaper than most other units. Mine never gave me problems offroad but i used it for high speed desert runnin :D

Completely agree with the above. I ran one for years in the back of my Blazer when it was still a DD and it worked great on the street and mild off-road, but quickly reached its limit in more aggressive off-road situations (as in it couldn't keep power to both wheels and only one would spin). I've seen quite a few other rigs over the years on the trail with a Tru-trac and they were the same way.

Im new to wheeling so my 2 cents arent worth even that ..lol but;

I installed eaton front and rear , the elocker in the d44 and a limited slip in the 14bolt. Ive only wheeled once and had no issues on a slimy trail . No isssues on the road either. run 35s. getting close to my 500mile fluid change , will have to see how they last long term.
