locker opinion needed

I would like to get some opinions if i could please. I have an 81 sub with a 14blt 4.56 detroit rear and I finaly got a d60 open 4.56 front to put in. I am for sure going to uprgade the stub shafts to 35 spline but I would also like a locker in the front but I was thinking for cost reasons instead of a detroit or other locker how about a full spool?? I am not worried about on the road cause I will have manuel hubs. I was wondering how bad the steering is off road?? I was just planing on doing a regular cross-over steering setup without assist. I will be running a set of 38" x 11.5" boggers on 16 x 8 wheels. Also is it a big deal to have a spool in the front without having one in the rear. The 14blt came with the detroit already in it so I would rather just leave it in there. Thanks for any help !!

Spools push pretty good in the front. I'd get another Detroit. Especially in soft terrain like you've got in WV, I wouldn't want a full spool up front.

Spools suck in the front, buy one of the lunchbox lockers for the front. They are pretty stout in the D60 variety.
