Now to force the driver out just enough to make the ratcheting happen , there needs to be sufficient speed over a hard surface , such as a sweeping turn on a freeway ramp , or no torque on the driveshaft , such as turning around in a parking lot barely touching the gas pedal .
They don't just unlock wheeling , they work with a tire in the air .

You just said the same thing I said in different words dude
And surface does make a difference , it sure as hell ain't gonna ratchet ( UNLOCK ) on loose dirt or sand![]()
I can get a solid chirp on turns when it upshifts , definitely both sides locked together . And some awesome frame twistage to one side when you goose it from a standstill , just like a drag car with a Strange Spool![]()

?so how well would a loc-rite in the front work with my gov-bomb in the rear? Would it be money well spent? also i gotta drive this thing everyday, would that be an issue? Someone told me that front lockers don't do well on snow, is this true, cause I like playing in deep snow?
I don't know why yall are argueing about how a locker works...Heres what I know, my is fun on the street, off-road my lockright has never unlocked on my when i was on the gas. Therefore making my money well spent![]()
WOW this stuff is confusing.
I might give my friend a call and get a phone number for the guy who does all his axel work. (this guy is probaly the best in the whole area, maybe the whole state)
I would rather have the gov-lock up front and a locker in the back.so how well would a loc-rite in the front work with my gov-bomb in the rear? Ok i see there is much debating in this thread so i'll just post my question in here. sorry to hijack but figure it might give you an idea what they look like too
Here is the front which i believe is a locker. Can someone possibly tell me what kind it is??
and here is what was in the rear which i know to be a limitied slip. It had chunks in the bottom when i brought the truck home so it's junked out. I don't recommend this type
Sorry the pics suck but so does the camera haha
nope it's a 44 front 12 bolt i believe. It's in the front of a half ton truckThe top looks kinda like my detroit (that's a dana 60, right?) but its not the same. It could be an older model. I don't think I've seen a limited slip that had an enclosed carrier like that.
The bottom "limited slip" is a gov-lok
