Do they take an additive in the gear oil or do you just use gear oil only? Oh and I'm talking a detroit in the 14ff and a true-trac in the front.
 
I e-mail Eaton about that same thing a few years ago.
They said that regular 80-90 is all that is required in the Detroit. Synthetic is good to.

I know that I pasted the e-mail in a thread here a while ago. Could search for it.

Regular oil. Ltd slips need additive.
 
Both take regular 90 wt. Tru trac does not need friction additive because it has no clutches.
Clutch type LSDs like the Track Lok need additive.
