Ok, so the center console in my burb won't lock with the door key.

When i was like 10, i mistakenly removed one of these on another truck, but have no idea how it did it.

I'm guessing the cylinder isn't matched to the key. How hard would it be ot remove this cylinder and rekey it? How do you remove it? Any other tricks?

I figure i could get a new one, but then it won't match my door keys.

THanks guys!

OK the book shows the lock, metal ring on top and the bottom half. I pried the silver cover off with a flat blade screw driver.

Looking at the black piece under neath where the hook part is it looks like there is a wrist pin holding the hook to lock.

It looks like you have to remove the pin then the hook comes off.

In the bottom of the black part there is a slit. There is a part the you have to press in with a screw driver to release the look.

Then it looks like while holding it in you pull cylinder out.

I have limited tools in my house but my console is in here so best I can tell you.

Good luck! ;)

Thanks for your help! I'm curious to see if that works.

I talked to like 5 dealers, and found a guy that said you can do it, but need a key that works to remove it. He directed me to a lock smith. I'll let you know what i can figure out!

the wrist pin is what I couldn't get no pliers to pull it out. But I think it will work. Good luck

Yea I did put it back on I had to tap it on. Just go slow and esy to work it off.
