I have a 75 K5 and it has optional locking differentials I was wondering if they were like limited slip or are they the kind that you can lock in, with some sort of switch. please forgive my ingnorance!

thanks, so is haveing them a good thing or do they do so little that it doesn't matter?

IIRC Gm never put any type of locker/posi in fronts, other than certain military trucks. Anyways, what you have is probly an Eaton posi, as GM didn't put govlocks in them yet, not till the early 80s. It's a posi, so if both tires are on slick ground, they will both spin, but if one is on pavement and other on dirt, the one on dirt will most likely spin while the other does nothing.

allsome, it's good to know what your working with, thanks alot
