78 is still with no door... stant makes one. any autoparts store can get em. about $12.00

I got mine from NAPA for about $10 or $15 I think. Its nice to know no one can steal your gas or screw your truck up by putting anything in the tank.

That's why they usually say the product deters theft, rather than promising outright prevention. There has never been a lock that couldn't be picked, nor a safe that couldn't be cracked. However, what you try and do is to make your goodies more trouble to steal than the other guy's goodies. 
If you have a locking cap (or alarm, or the club, or an unfriendly dog, or whatever deterrent you choose), but the next vehicle doesn't, the perp will usually take the easier route and pass you by, provided that a similar gain can be had with noticebly less risk and/or effort.

So is what he is trying to say is...Go and steel your neibors gas cap so the thief will see that and figure he found gold.
